Prestage Street Party!!!

To Celebrate a year of the Old Trafford Community Mural by Mural Life Β  there was a party at prestage street and THE BACK gALLErY were thrilled to be involved again (can you remember the bird trail from last year?) hosting some art workshops. There was a brilliant Buzz to the event with bouncy castle, swap shop, food, music and chalking all there as well. It was however incredibly windy but we managed to keep on going despite several of our art materials getting blown away!!

We re used some old CD’s to make them into bird mobile, funny faces and some gorgeous flowers by drawing onto the shiny reflective surface and adding on googly eyes and felt and foam pieces and old buttons.

We also planned to make some bird kites from paper but had to simplify our designs as all the little details kept blowing away!! However, it was definitely the day to be making Kites and all the children loved designing theirs before assembling them and then running around and watching them fly!!Β

Not only were we Celebrating a year of the fantastic mural, the event also marked the opening of the newly landscaped area at Prestage street by Love Old Trafford and Groundworks. Whilst the grass has not grown yet due to the recent extremely hot weather you can really get a sense of what a great fun area this will be. The Children loved the Sundial too!! This is where the Rainbow heart we painted at the last art club will be installed in the near future. Watch this space!!!
